The West Cross, or decorated cross , located in Kilkieran, Co. Kilkenny, is part
of the Ossory group, which includes the crosses at Ahenny, Killamery and Kilree.
It is probably the most important and is very similar to the crosses at Ahenny. On
the Eastern side of the base there is some figure sculpture showing 8 horsemen, the
rest of the cross is mainly covered with Celtic knot work but it is unusual, in that
some of the knot work on the base is imperfect, which is very rare on high cross
sculpture. The cross stands over 11-1/2 feet high.
Matted in forest green and framed beautifully in cherry wood or black wood.
Each print signed and dated by artist.
